Real World Performance

We aren’t surprised that the drivetrain of the MDX is just as impressive as its exterior. The 3.5-liter V6 engine is capable of up to 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. Direct injection, i-VTEC™ technology, and Variable Cylinder Management work together to deliver powerful fuel economy without sacrificing performance. 

Like previous models, the 2024 MDX is standard with front-wheel drive but Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) is available. This intelligent, torque vectoring system sends power to the wheels with the most traction and can divert up to 70 percent of the engine’s torque to the rear. The result is unbeatable traction and agility. Steering is responsive and precise thanks to the Electric Power Steering system and larger front brakes provide reduced brake fade for improved braking. The MDX features an Integrated Dynamics System. Controlled by a knob on the center of the dash, you can choose how the engine, transmission, SH-AWD (when equipped), and steering properties perform with five settings: Snow, Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Individual.
